As many of you know, manzanitas are quite extraordinary but most efforts to produce the genus for the nursery industry have been met with extremely limited success. This is not the case with Manzanita’s Plus.
We would like to introduce you to Verl Holden, the iconic horticulturist and nurseryman of Holden Wholesale Growers located in Silverton, OR. In 2009, Holden took on the challenge of producing the Plant Select manzanitas. His years of experience, knowledge and expert cultivation techniques have enabled us to produce exceptional quality in abundant quantities for all of your manzanita needs. Plant Select is a program that test and markets extraordinary landscape plants for the western United States.
At Holden’s request, we are developing a marketing and distribution strategy to introduce these amazing plants to a wider market. Manzanita’s Plus was established as the sole outlet for Holden’s plants.
Our dry, western region needs a broadleaf evergreen that looks fantastic year round. Not only do our plants offer exceptional coverage, they are drought tolerant once established and serve to help the needs of our ever important bees, hummingbirds, butterflies and other wildlife. Manzanitas truly are a GAME-CHANGER.
